FARMINGTON, Ky.--Gracie E. Whitt, 87, of Farmington died at 1 a.m. Saturday at her home.

She was retired from Merit Clothing Co. and was a member of Farmington Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Frances Adams of Farmington; one sister, Pauline Dillon of Mayfield; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Whitt; three sons, J.B. Whitt, James Robert Whitt, and Marion Raymond Whitt; one daughter, Helen Marie Whitt; and one brother; and one sister. Her parents were James Buchanan and Dola Thompson Buchanan.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Farmington Baptist Church. The Rev. Curtis Rice will officiate. Burial will be in Arnett Cemetery.

Harold Holladay
(February 28, 1917 - September 8, 2007)

He lived in South Fulton TN all of his life. He graduated from South Fulton High School. He served during WWII in the US Army in the South West Pacific Area. He worked for the US Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier for over 30 years retiring in 1977. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton KY for over 50 years. He served as church treasurer for 29 years and was a member of the administrative board and served as a church trustee.He was a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia Holladay Nichols and son- in- law Dave Nichols of Nashville TN. 2 grandchildren Hal Nichols and Patrick Nichols both of Nashville TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife Erline Wilkins Holladay April 28, 2003 and his parents George Cleveland and Maude Lamb Holladay. 6 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mr Harold Holladay will be held at 2pm Tues in our funeral chapel with burial to follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call the funeral home from 6 to 8 Mon and anytime Tuesday until the funeral hour. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fulton KY.

MAYFIELD, Ky. -- Graveside services for Harold E. Loughmiller, 83, of Mayfield will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Cuba Community Cemetery with Chris King and Don Canter officiating.

Mr. Loughmiller died at 9:55 a.m. Monday at Heritage Manor Healthcare.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Lebanon Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Marguriete "Peggy" Canter Loughmiller; one son, David Loughmiller of Phoenix; two daughters, Diane Weyandt of Plano, Texas, and Carol Murphy of The Woodlands, Texas; three brothers, Marvin Loughmiller of Louisville, Gale Loughmiller of Columbus, Ind., and Don Loughmiller of Sellersburg, Ind.; one sister, Dorothy Woodhouse of Warren, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Vedder Loughmiller, and two brothers. His parents were Orval and Olive Martin Loughmiller.

Services for Hattie Page Glenn, 94, of Murray, formerly of Louisville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member and elder. The Revs. David and Anne Marie Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro.

Mrs. Glenn died at 9:20 p.m. Saturday at Westview Nursing Home.

A native of Graves County, she attended Western Kentucky University and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky. She received a master's degree from the University of Louisville, and completed post graduate work there as well. Mrs. Glenn was a teacher and administrator in the Jefferson County public school system for 47 years. She was also a member and elder of Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville. Her other memberships included the Speed Museum in Louisville, Louisville Women's Club, Murray Country Club, The Rose Garden Club of Murray and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Murray. Mrs. Glenn served as a docent with the Louisville Zoo and had a classroom in Alexander Hall at Murray State University dedicated to her.

Surviving are one daughter, Suzanne Curry of Wilmington, Del.; one sister, Beth Belote of Murray; two grandchildren, David H. Curry of Columbus, Ohio, and Catherine A. Edge of Newark, Del.; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry David Glenn, and two brothers. Her parents were Marion W. Page and Era Maud Hammon Page.

MAYFIELD — Mrs. Hattie Jackson, age 92, of Mayfield, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Green Acres Healthcare Facility in Mayfield.

She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a retired seamstress from the former Merit Clothing Co.

She is survived by two sons, Bro. Charles “C.W.” and wife Brenda Jackson, Mayfield, and Larry Jackson, Cookeville, Tenn.; two daughters: Charlotte and husband Billy Dublin, Mayfield, Martha and husband Dan Lugo, Stafford, Texas; one brother, Paul and wife Josephine McFadden, New Hartford, N.Y.; one sister, Lucille Cook, Detroit, Mich.; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Coley “Shorty” Jackson; parents, Luther and Vera Timmons McFadden Sr.; two daughters, Peggy Clapp and Nancy Isbell; six brothers, Frank McFadden, Luther McFadden Jr., Noble McFadden, Ralph McFadden, Ray McFadden and Ward McFadden; two sisters, Violet Turnbow and Mary Smith; and one great-grandchild, Casey Skaggs.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Bro. Charles “C.W.” Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Parker and grandsons William Jackson, Charles Allen Cook, Joel Skaggs, Matt McKenzie and Jeff Robinson.

WINGO — Helen Ruth Johnson Cude, 80, of Wingo died at 11:25 a.m. Friday at Mills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mayfield.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Nelson Cude; one son, Nelson Cude Jr. of Wingo; one brother, Jack Johnson of Murray; one sister, Frances Laird of Cuba; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Audrey Stom Johnson; three brothers; and five sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. Chris Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Wingo Cemetery.

WATER VALLEY, Ky. — Services for Henry Louis Cobb Sr., 70, of Water Valley, formerly of South Fulton, Tenn., will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. The Rev. Danny Potts and his brother, Billy Joe Cobb of Greenfield, Tenn., will officiate. Burial will be at Water Valley Cemetery.

Mr. Cobb died at 11:46 a.m. Monday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

A native of Skullbone, Tenn., he retired from J.E. Campbell Inc. in South Fulton after 28 years of service and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Besides his brother, he is survived by his wife, Shelby Glover Cobb; three sons, Henry L. Cobb Jr. of Murray, William Lee Cobb of Greenfield, and Paul Joseph Cobb of Union City, Tenn.; two daughters, Pamela Frances McCord and Aletha Cheryl Vanmeter, both of Water Valley; two other brothers, Larry Cobb of Dresden, Tenn., and Danny Cobb of Greenfield; two sisters, Betty Cobb of Martin, Tenn., and Dean Franklin of St. Joseph, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. His parents were Robert E. Lee Cobb and Mattie Lou Bryant Cobb.

He had lived most of his life in Wingo KY and South Futlon TN. He was a member of the South Fulton Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII and was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by a son - David Murphy of South Fulton TN and a daughter Lana Parker also of South Fulton TN. 4 grandchildren - Josh Murphy, Robert Murphy, Barbara McClanahan, and Lori Pinion all of South Fulton TN. 4 great grandchildren - Allison Murphy of Murray KY. Holly McClanahan, Emily Pinion, and Cory Pinion all of South Fulton TN. 1 brother - Glenn Murphy of Alexandria LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Clarence and May Kimbell Murphy. His wife Vivian Elizabeth Choate Murphy Oct. 26, 2002. A daughter - Barbara Gail Murphy. 1 sister - Modean Puckett and 1 brother Raymond Puckett.

Funeral services for Mr. Curtis Murphy will be held at 3PM Monday in our funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hester Norman, formerly of Wingo,KY died September 15, 2009 at 11:25 p.m. at the Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton,KY.

She was a member of the Old Bethel Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired clerk for J.C. Penney.

She is survived by a step son Charles Norman of Fulton,KY and 2 step daughters Macie Jones of Wingo, KY and Nita Jones of Pleasantview, TN; 13 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. A brother Gerry Wilson of American Fork, Utah, 2 sisters Bonnie Jean Smith of Houston, TX and Char Aber of Colorado Springs, CO, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband J.B. Norman, her parents, a step son Ronald Norman and 2 brothers.

She died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.

Mrs. Watts was retired from the former Merit Clothing Co. in Mayfield. She was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church.

Miss Byars was a member of First United Methodist Church, Martin TN; she was a substitute teacher at Westview High School; she was a graduate of Westview High School in 1989.

Howell “Hal” Edward Jones, 45, of Sedalia, KY passed away on Thursday, August 08, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital.

Hal was a member of the Pilot Oak Baptist Church and had worked as a self-employed carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Angie” Jones of Sedalia,KY; mother, Caroline Jones of Cuba, KY; daughters, Sarah Jones, Hannah Jones and Molly Jones of Sedalia and sister, Patricia Causey of Cuba, KY

He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund Jones.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Hickman City Cemetery with Revs. Jimmy Brown and Jim Barnhouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery.

Friends are ask to meet at the cemetery at service time. There will be no visitation.

Ila Estelle Garrigus

WINGO - Miss Ila Estelle Garrigus, age 99, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 5:20 p.m. at the Golden Living Center in Union City, Tenn.

Miss Garrigus was born near Palmersville, Tenn., in Weakley County on December 23, 1913, to the parents of James Bedford Garrigus and Laura Mae Butler Garrigus.

Ila attended grammar school at the French School, which was a one room school. She attended grades 7 through 12 at the Pilot Oak High School where she graduated in 1932. Ila graduated from Murray State Teachers College in 1942 after stopping for seven and one-half years to teach at the Pilot Oak School for grades 3 and 4. During World War II, Ila moved to Detroit, Mich., to work in a military aircraft engine factory testing aircraft engines.

In 1946, Ila taught school in Paducah, Ky., for two years at McKinley Grammar School.

Miss Garrigus moved to Peoria, Ill., in 1948 where she taught at the Columbia, Loucks, and Tyng schools until her retirement in 1976.

In 1976, Ila moved back to Lone Oak, Ky. Ila worshiped at the Lone Oak Church of Christ where she was active in the Senior Ladies Group.

Ila moved from Lone Oak to live in the home of her nephew, Larry and Joyce Russell in Union City, Tenn., in July 2006.

In Union City, Tenn., Miss Ila attended church at the Exchange Street Church of Christ when she could until her health declined, which placed her in the Golden Living Center where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her nephew, Denton Russell of Searcy, Ark.; nephew, Larry Russell of Union City, Tenn.; nephew, James Dennis Garrigus of Lone Oak, Ky.; niece, Laura Fae Davis of South Fulton, Tenn.; niece, Linda Sue Holman of Wingo, Ky.; and niece, Patricia Hall of Palm Bay, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Gracie Russell and Fannie Garrigus; two brothers, James Garrigus and Vodie Garrigus; and niece, Bonnie Willett.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Wingo, Ky., with Bro. Bobby Crittendon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Brown Funeral Home in Wingo, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Charles Russell, Ped Foster, Craig Russell, Caleb Russell, Garrett Foster and Gabe Willett.

Imogene Pritchett Stroup, 85, of Paducah died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at Paducah Care & Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Brookport, Ill., she was a homemaker, a graduate of the former Draughon’s Business College and a member of Broadway Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer L. Kemp and husband James of Nashville, Tenn., and Melissa R. Moore and husband Sam of Paducah; one son, David C. Stroup and wife Jeanne of Paducah; three grandchildren, Justin Massey and wife Gail of Paducah, Palmer Stroup of Paducah, and Rachel Massey of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua Massey, Abbygale Massey and Alexis Rideout, all of Paducah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Allen and Ethel Fair Ballew Pritchett; her husband, R.B. Stroup; and one sister, Mary Ovellia Clapp.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, February 20, 2010, at Roth Funeral Chapel with Andrew Clausen officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery in Graves County.

Earl Tabers, 76, of Murray, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Superior Care Home in Paducah, Kentucky.

He was the former co-owner of Tabers Body Shop and later retired after several years as an auto dealer. He was born on January 23, 1938 in Murray to Rex and Christine Howard Tabers. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Murray.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Gerald Tabers.

Mr. Tabers is survived by a daughter, Starlyn Wyatt and husband David of West Paducah; a son, Michael Tabers and partner Michael Rook of Nashville, Tennessee; two brothers, Bernard Tabers and wife Doris, Brentwood, Tennessee, Jim Tabers and wife Mary Lou of Bethany, Oklahoma; one sister, Debbie Hill and husband David of Brandenton, Florida; three grandsons, Zach Wyatt & Ben Wyatt of Murray and Jacob Wyatt of West Paducah; former wife Marilyn Tabers of Murray; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Murray City Cemetery with John Dale officiating.

Mrs. Irene Goodwin of South Fulton died Sunday at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, KY and was also a member of the Wesley Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and had retired from the former Henry I. Siegel Clothing Company where she worked in Quality Control.

She is survived by a daughter Paula Kirby of Calvert City, KY, 2 sons Ray Campbell of Foley, AL and Johnny Campbell of South Fulton,TN. A step son Bobby Joe Goodwin of Fulton, KY, 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Goodwin, her parents Joe and Delia (Stewart) Todd, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Interment will be in the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services for Iris Charlene Lasater Hall, 81, of the Boaz community will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Larry Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Hall passed away at 7:27 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2010, at Medco Center of Paducah.

Born in Rutherford, Tennessee, Mrs. Hall retired after 37 years with South Central Bell as an operator. She was a 50-year member of Lone Oak Church of Christ, where she planned many trips and activities for the senior adults of the church. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lawton Eugene Hall; one daughter, Lisa Nixon and her husband, Rodger David Nixon, of Lone Oak; and one grandchild, Krista Shae Ramage and her husband, Drew Ramage, of Boaz. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Ross Ramage and Riley Ramage; one sister, Eva Lynn Moreland Clark of Fulton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her parents were Robert Lynn Lasater and Myrtle Melissa McCullar Lasater.

J.D. Lamb, age 95, of Murray formerly of Mayfield died Wednesday October 29, 2014 at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris TN.

He was a member of the Coldwater Church of Christ, and retired employee from Murray State University.

Mr. Lamb is survived by; one son, Bobby (Shirley) Lamb of Murray; daughter, Evelyn Pack of Louisville KY; brother, Wavel (Annetta) Lamb of Mayfield; sister, Sue Miller of Mayfield; 2 grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by; 4 brothers, Wilson, Clovis, Bob, and Billy Lamb; his parents were Lexie and Ethel Adams Lamb.

MAYFIELD, Ky. — J.W. Moffitt, 75, of Mayfield died Monday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

He was a retired employee of D & W Auto Parts in Mayfield, member of First Baptist Church in Mayfield and 50-year member of Mayfield Masonic Lodge #369.

Mr. Moffitt is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon B. Moffitt; son, Michael Duane (Debra) Moffitt of Kevil, Ky.; daughters, Cheryl Sharp of Newport News, Va., and Stacey (Richard) Rickman of Mayfield; three grandchildren, Lacy Sharp of Atlanta, Ga., Justin Rickman of Mayfield and Jessica Rickman of Mayfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley and Bertha Pritchard Moffitt.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. Revs. Ronnie Stinson and Scott Wilkins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery.

James Brooks, 76 FULTON, Ky.

Services for James Stanford Brooks, 76, of Fulton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom, Tenn. The Rev. Rick Walker will officiate, with burial in Cuba Cemetery.

Mr. Brooks died Saturday at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

He was a retired employee of the Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Peoria, Ill., and an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Peggy Yates Brooks; a brother, Thomas L. Brooks of Wingo; and two sisters, Minnie Cochran of Sedalia and Sue Dublin of Lynnville.

He was preceded in death by one sister. His parents were Sam and Maybelle Kimbel Brooks.

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — James C. Midyett, 83, of Sierra Vista, Arizona passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Life Care Center. He moved to Sierra Vista from Paducah, Kentucky in 1972.

James was born September 13, 1925 in Paris, Tennessee to Robert Harrison and Ermie May (Miller) Midyett. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and attained the rank of Gunner’s Mate Third Class.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Edna (Mays) Midyett; two daughters, Alethia Carol and husband Louie T. Sumner and Wanda Jane McQuaig; one son, Danny Clayton Midyett; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maybelle Cates and Virginia Lee Moore; and one brother, Robert Harold Midyett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. and Ermie May (Miller) Midyett; two brothers, Naman Paul Midyett and Kenneth Ray Midyett and two grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, June 22, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, Arizona. Pastor Jack Chancellor will officiate.

James E. "Jim" Allen Sr. of Heath, Ky., 95, retired owner of Allen Auto Sales passed away at 11:20. p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Superior Care Center.
A celebration of Mr. Allen’s life is scheduled as follows: Visitation on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Roth Funeral Chapel. Visitation will also be at First Christian Church of Paducah at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, until the funeral hour at 2:30. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Tilford, Rev. Jae Gottman and Rev. Joe Owsley. Pallbearers will be Greg and Bo Skidmore, Keith Owsley, Randy McCune, Ryan Barrett and Michael Skidmore. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Cemetery.

Mr. Allen was born to T.O. Allen and Dessie Tapp Allen on June 24, 1912. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Gertrude Childress Allen (2003); his brother, O.T. Allen; sister, Benny Allen Crice and husband, Fred Crice; and brother-in-law, J.D. Bradford.

Surviving are four children, James Allen Jr. (Barbara), Carolyn Owsley (Joe) and Betty Skidmore, all of Paducah, and Barbara Allen McCune (Jimmy) of Evansville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Hughes (Ron), Greg Skidmore and Carla Hagood (Tim), all of Paducah, Bo Skidmore (Wendy) and Lana Suiter (Phil), both of Nashville, Tenn., Jackie (Dave) Barrett, Randy McCune (Robin) and Jill (Jeff) Locher, all of Evansville, Ind., Keith (Melody) Owsley of Racine, Wis., and Kenny (Karen) Owsley of Stuart, Fla.; 20 great-grandchildren, Jamie, Tanner and Christy Hagood, all of Paducah, Michael Skidmore of Paducah, Sarah Holland (Nicholas) of Washington, D.C., Ryan, Aaron and Drew Barrett, Brit and Alex McCune, Jeffrey, Jory, Jobie and Justin Locher, all of Evansville, Ind., Courtney and Zachary Owsley, both of Racine, Wis., Colby and Madison Skidmore and Taylor and Andrea Suiter, all of Nashville, Tenn.

Also surviving are a sister, Ida Belle Allen Bradford of Paducah; a sister-in-law, Sue Harkey Allen of West Paducah; two nieces, Vicky (Larry) Livingston and Peggy (Tom) Hooper; three nephews, Craig Bradford, Bob Allen and Bill Allen; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Allen was the oldest surviving member of Bethel Christian Church, where he served as elder and other positions for over 80 years. He was instrumental in bringing the first water and modern telephone services to the Heath community, where he also served on the McCracken County School Board. He also was a member/officer of West McCracken County Lions Club, Paducah Elks Club, Optimist, Toastmasters and Odd Fellows.

James Joseph "Jimmy" Clement

Mr. Jimmy Clement of South Fulton, TN died Thursday, October 7, 2010 at his home.

He was a member of the Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton and was a charter member and past president of the Kiwanis Club. He was a farmer and also worked in the Agriculture Business. He had lived in this area all of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy B. Clement of South Fulton, TN, whom he married Dec. 16, 1945, 3 daughers Dianne Powell of Daphne, AL, Nelda Bushart of South Fulton, TN and Jan Clement of Paris, TN; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and a sister Susie Clement Dixon of Fulton, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Jefferson Clement and Bessie Corine (Cunningham) Clement, a son Jon Jeffrey Clement,and a sister Sara Ann Clement.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, October 11 at 11 am at the Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton. Visitation will also be at the church from 9 am until the hour of service.

U.S. VeteranJames Ray Flood, age 87, of Farmington, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray.

He was a member of Farmington Church of Christ and a retired dairy farmer. He was also an Army Veteran during the WWII era.

Mr. Flood is survived by his wife of 42 years, Iva Flood; Sons: Sid (Sandra) Flood of TX; Glenn R. (Lisa) Flood of Farmington, KY; Bryan (Rita) Flood of Dexter, KY; step-sons: Steve (Pat) Moore of Toledo, OH; and Kenny (Julie) Moore of Murfreesboro, TN; step-daughter: Sheila (Johnny) Wells of Farmington, KY; brother: Danny Flood of Farmington, KY; sisters; Anna Fay Hayes of Murray, KY; Mary Jo Shelton of Farmington, KY; Laura Nell Kemp of Mayfield; and Barbara McCuiston of Murray; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Has preceded in death by his sister: Hilda Bell; Parents L.B. and Stella Alexander Flood and his first wife: Lucille Cavendar Flood.

Funeral services for Mr. Flood will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 22, 2014 at Byrn Funeral Home with Jerry Mayes and Rev. Ben Stratton officiating. Interment will follow at Farmington Cemetery.

James Rhodes

Completed arrangements are being announced for James A. Rhodes, 71, of Water Valley, Ky., who died 6:39 a.m. Feb. 27, 2005, at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with Dr. Darroll Wilson and the Rev. Danny Potts officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Water Valley.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today and on Wednesday until the hour of services.

He was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Hickman County, Ky., son of the late Gusta D. and Rubye (Gardiner) Rhodes. He was married to the former Shirley Burgess for 48 years and was a member of Mount Zion Presbyterian Church. A U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict, he had been a member of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He had lived in Hickman County most of his life and had been a supervisor at Ferry Morse Seed Co. in Fulton.

He is also survived by two sons, Jamie D. Rhodes of South Fulton and Roger A. Rhodes of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Jarrod Rhodes of Arlington, Ky., and Roger Rhodes and Jennifer Rhodes, both of Knoxville; two sisters, Nettie Roberts of South Fulton and Wanda Warner of Mayfield, Ky.; and his brother, Jerald Rhodes of Clarksville.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers.

Mr. James Richard Wiggins, 71, of Murray died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his residence. He was a retired employee of Continental General Tire in Mayfield.

Mr. Wiggins is survived by his mother Cynthia E. (McPherson) Wiggins of Murray; a son Tim (Julie) Wiggins of Mayfield; a daughter Shelenia (Andrew) Underhill of Murray; a brother Gary P. (Kimberly) Wiggins of Gilbertsville. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a retired customer engineer with IBM Corp. He was a member of Crutchfield Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Blondell Goodwin Sadler; two daughters, Teresa Eve Sadler of San Jose, Calif., and Karen Leigh Verkler of South Fulton; two sons, John Earl Sadler of South Fulton and Ira David Sadler of San Jose; and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Sadler was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Ira Edgar "Slim" Sadler and Blanche Noles Sadler.

Joel Lee Brockwell, age 76, of Paducah, passed away at 4:34 p.m. Friday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah, Ky.

He was a native of South Fulton, Tenn., and had formerly lived in Michigan for several years.

Mr. Brockwell was a foreman for Wolverine Metal and was also the owner and operator of the first Little Caesars Pizza in Paducah. He served as a Blueman volunteer for Lourdes hospital and was a member of Promise Land Ministry.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Shirley Tucker Brockwell; one son, Terry Brockwell (Connie); two daughters, Debby Childress and Shelly Brockwell, all of Paducah; four brothers, Thurman Brockwell (Mary) of Tennessee, Harold Brockwell (Doradean) of Texas, Paul Brockwell (Geneva) of Murray, Ky., and Hugh “Sonny” Tucker (Judy) of Michigan; three sisters, Ann Springer (Neal) of Texas, Brenda Brockwell of Tennessee and Linda Green (Harry) of Benton, Ky.; five grandchildren, Christopher Brockwell, Rene’e Brockwell, Stephanie Rodgers (Kyle), Joseph Brockwell and Ryan Steele; one great-granddaughter, Amelia Brockwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Cephus Brockwell and Charlotte Louise Watson Brockwell; one grandson, Joel Bradley Steele; son-in-law, Barry Childress; and two brothers.

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Wiley officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Jane Adele Whitehurst Hawkins Obit

Jane was the daughter of Herbert and Susan Jane (Arthur) Whitehurst. She attended Waco schools, graduating in 1936 from Waco High School, and lived in Waco all her life. She loved flowers and had a green thumb. Everything she touched flourished. Jane had a passion for butterflies and kept them around her all the time. She had a great love of music, especially polkas. She was a hard working, loving, gentle lady. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was the best mom in the world.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.S. Schwarz, father of Jane Ann; second husband, C.E. Lyons; and third husband, E.C. Hawkins, father of Susan Lynne.

Survivors include daughters, Jane Ann Combs and Susan Lynne Schafer and husband, Chris, of Waco; sisters, Pan Denton, of Dallas, Juanita Boyd and Nadine Cook, of Waco; grandsons, Robert Wayne Combs and wife, Lissa, of Florence, Charles David Combs and Gary Don Combs, of Waco; eleven great-grandchildren, Richard, Katelyn, Brian, Elisabeth, Anna, Sarah, Olivia, Megan, James, Melissa and Anthony.

Jason Ray West, 26, of Paducah died at 2:57 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.

He was a laborer with the Laborer’s International Union in Paducah. He was a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers of Evansville, Ind., and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Paducah.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Baker of Paducah; his father, Jack West and stepmother, Traci West of Hardin; one daughter, Mariah Hope West of Paducah; three brothers, Anthony Scarbrough of Hardin, Shane Scarbrough of Dexter, and Aaron Scarbrough of Murray; one sister, Allison Baker of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Billy Baker.

MAYFIELD, Ky.--Jeanette Hicks, 89, of Mayfield died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Manor Healthcare Center in Mayfield.
Mrs. Hicks was retired from Curlee Clothing Co. and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Walon Timothy Hicks of Fulton; two daughters, LaDonna Davis of Boaz and Arthur Lene Herndon of Cuba; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur T. Hicks; one daughter, Nettie Ruth Hicks; and one brother. Her parents were George and Eula Starks Golden.

He was of the Methodist Faith, a 1982 graduate of Mayfield High School and played basketball for Paducah Community College.
He was the owner and operator of Ford Richardson for 25 years and was currently employed at H & R Agri-power.

Mrs. Weaks is survived by her husband of 46 years Keith J. Weaks; one son Marty (Cathy) Canter of Mayfield; two step-sons Mike (Pam) Weaks of Farmington and David Weaks of Mayfield; one daughter Stacey Hobbs of Mayfield; two step-daughters Cathy (Mark) Crawford and Candy Weaks both of Mayfield; her step-father M. C. Rose of Farmington; two sisters Jackie Sullivan and Leta (Larry) Gregory both of Farmington. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Willie Forrest Glover, her mother Hazel Bell Rose and a brother Forrest J. Glover.

Jessie Lee Warren of Dresden and formerly of Dukedom, TN died July 14, 2011 at the Weakley County Rehab and Nursing Center.

She was of the Baptist faith and had retired as a machine operator for the former Henry I. Siegel Clothing Company in Fulton, KY. She had lived in this area all of her life.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in law Ray and Holly Warren of Camdenton, MO and Jim and Mildred Warren of Martin, TN, two grandchildren and their spouses Mark and Kim Warren of Hope Mills, NC and Cindy Renee' and James Burgess of Mayfield, KY, and six great grandchildren, Dustin, Brandon, Jay and Maya Warren and Cody and Matt Burgess.

She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Josie (Alderdice) Newton and two sisters Mauddie Maxey and Mary Frances "Peggy" Mansfield.

Funeral services will be held at the Jackson Funeral Home at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 16 and burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery near Latham,TN. Visitation will be at the Jackson Funeral Home from 10 am Saturday until the funeral hour.

MAYFIELD — Jewell G. Shelby, 83, of the Lynnville community in Graves County died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

He was retired from the Chrysler Corp. in Detroit. He was a U.S. Army veteran and of the Lutheran faith.

Mr. Shelby is survived by one stepdaughter, Jennie Fowler of Mayfield; two brothers, Larry E. Shelby of Sedalia and Marion Nelson Shelby of Fulton; four stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Shelby; his parents, Lon and Carrie Hall Shelby; two brothers, and three sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Doug Tibbs officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Cuba Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Jimmy Dale Redmon, age 70, of Mayfield, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.

He was of the Baptist faith, former chief of the Mayfield Graves County Fire and Rescue Squad, Masonic Lodge member and current employee of Pillgrims Pride.

Mr. Redmon is survived by his wife, Rhonda Redmon; one son: Dewayne (Patty) Redmon of Mayfield; two sisters: Shirley Wiggins and Ruth Vaughan, both of Mayfield; two grandchildren: Jordan Redmon and Colby Redmon, both of Mayfield and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, Wanda Carol Redmon and his parents Utah and Hazel Brewington Redmon.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Byrn Funeral Home with Robbie Courtney and Ian Carrico officiating.
Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Jimmy Patterson, 70 MAYFIELD, Ky.

Services for Jimmy Lynn Patterson, 70, of Farmington will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Rusty Wirt officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Patterson died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Ill.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two sons, Kent Patterson and Tim Patterson, both of Mayfield; a sister, Burdeen Waller of Sedalia; a brother, William Patterson Jr. of Robertsville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters. His parents were Goble and Nellie Graves Patterson.

MAYFIELD, Ky. -- Joe B. Woodson, 83, of Mayfield died Sunday at Mills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mayfield. He was retired from West Kentucky Rural Electric and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Woodson was a member of High Point Baptist Church in Mayfield.

Mr. Woodson is survived by his wife, Alta Marie Horn Woodson; a son, Steve Woodson of Wingo; a daughter, Alecia Burke of Wadesville, Ind.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Nora Dillon Woodson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Byrn Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Hatley officiating. Entombment will follow at the Highland Park Mausoleum.

John Ray Cunningham, 69, of Obion, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004 at his residence.

He was an employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 28 years.

Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Obion Church of Christ with Harrell Davidson officiating. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Obion. Cryer Funeral Home in Obion was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Caughron Cunningham; two daughters, Debbie Cunningham Underwood and Patty Lynn Cunningham Harris; four sisters, Jaunita Gatewood, Lois Dallene Harbour, Carolyn Wells and Ann Cherry; and a brother, Alpha Stover Cunningham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alf and Suedell Stover Cunningham.

Mr. Wylburn B. "Johnny" Holland, age 94, of Paris and formerly of South Fulton died Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Paris Health Care in Paris, TN.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton, KY and was the former owner & operator of the South Fulton Dry Cleaners. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Force, where he served in China and Burma and he was a member of the Roberts Lodge #172.

He is survived by a daughter and son in law Linda and David Gillespie of Paris, TN, two grandchilidren and their spouses John David Gillespie (Tiffan) of Nashville, TN and Jane Ellen Paraschos (Theo) of Charleston,SC and two great grandchildren Nikos and Rhodes Paraschos of Charleston, SC. Also, four sisters Fannie Zircher of Tampa, FL, Ila Usher of Mayfield, KY, Sue Lawrence and June Cherry, both of Fulton,KY and a brother Bob Holland(Mary Belle) of Wingo, KY, and a brother in law Kenneth Hutchens (Patti) of South Fulton,TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Jane Hutchens Holland, his parents Ben and Greda Graves Holland, a sister Louise Ruddle and two brothers Jack Holland and Bill Holland.

Graveside service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, July 3 at the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens with Sam Wylie, nephew, officiating. There will be no visitation held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service.

Ola Mae "Granola" Caudle, 92 of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Friday, January 14, 1921 in Riceville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Theo Brockwell and the late Mary Elizabeth Dunn Brockwell. She was a retired employee of Lear-Siegel, Brown Shoe Company and former greeter at Wal-Mart. Mrs. Caudle was a member of Parr Avenue Church of Christ and the Red Hat Association.

Funeral services for Mrs. Caudle will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Parks Thurmon and Patrick Williams. Interment will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens in Union City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM to at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara A. Younger and her husband Gerald of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two brothers, Bobby Brockwell of Ocala, Florida and J. T. Brockwell of McConnell, Tennessee; two sisters, Laverne Greenlee of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Betty Maynard of Union City, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Vincent Younger and his wife Pam of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Kathy Younger Binkley and her husband Tommy of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Byron Criswell of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Michelle Yarbrough and her husband Trevor of Newbern, Tennessee, Kim Mullins and her husband Timmy of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Chad Binkley of Newbern, Tennessee and four great-grandchildren Sean Yarbrough and Peyton Elizabeth Yarbrough and Reagan Binkley all of Newbern, Tennessee and Luke Mullins of Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Kevil in Mayfield. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Charles Reeves; her father Newton Wilkins, Jr. of Mayfield ; 2 sons Randy Reeves of Columbia, MO and Barry Reeves of Charlotte, NC; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Breedlove Wilkins.

Services for Mrs. Reeves will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in the Byrn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Cobb and Rev. Rick Hatley officiating. Interment will follow in the Cuba Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00PM Monday, February 27, 2012 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.

MAYFIELD, Ky. — Judy Ann Shankle, 51, of the Cuba community died at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Shankle; her mother, Mary Louise Clark of Mayfield; one son, Justin Shankle of Mayfield; one daughter, Melissa Shankle of Mayfield; seven brothers, Billy Don Clark, Toy Clark, Thomas Clark, all of Mayfield, Roy Clark and Jimmy Clark, both of Pocahantas, Ark., J.W. Clark of Paducah, and Tony Clark of Fulton; two sisters, Eva Perkins of Greenville and Betty Sanderson of Raleigh, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Clark.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Revs. Spence Pate and William Dobson officiating. Burial will follow in Cuba Community Cemetery.

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — Julie Binford Graham, 60, of Hopkinsville, Ky., died Friday evening, May 14, 2010, at her residence of natural causes.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home with the Rev. Paige Williams officiating.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Liberty Cemetery in Fulton, Ky.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville.

A native of Clinton, Ky., Julie was born January 25, 1950, the daughter of the late Larry Hicks Binford and Frances Walker Binford. She was a retired school teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Nanney.

Survivors include her husband, Jack L. Graham; a son, Eric DeWayne Davis of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Kimberly Mobley of Madisonville, Ky.; a sister, Janice Sievers of Madisonville, Ky.; and four grandchildren, Colin Davis, Nathan Davis, Alexander Mobley and Max Mobley.

Mr. K.P. Dalton, Jr., 91, of Water Valley, KY. died May 24, 2014 at the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville, TN.

He was of Methodist faith and was the owner of the former K.P.'s Liquor Store for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII.

He is survived by three sons, Rick Dalton of Cordova, TN, Mark D. Yuill and Brad N Yuill both of Reno, NV., five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cathern L. Dalton on September 7, 2007, his parents Elizabeth Frances (Pruitt) and K.P. Dalton, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday in our funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5PM to 8PM Monday.
