Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups self-rising cornmeal
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 small onion, chopped
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup buttermilk
peanut oil for fryingInstructions:
Stir the first 4 ingredients together, then add chopped onion. Add buttermilk and egg and mix well. Drop by teaspoon full into hot peanut oil.(350*) Cook until golden brown, turning once while cooking.Great with fried fish. You can use the same peanut oil that you fried the fish in.
